Abstract: The basic priorities of programs for the development of peat production on the principles of rational nature management should be: small energy on peat, as an alternative to fossil fuels; development of the agro-industrial complex (increase of fertility, yield, environmental friendliness of agricul-tural products, reduction of expenses for mineral fertilizers); environmental protection (utilization of livestock waste, cleaning of the aquatic environ-ment from suspended and dissolved substances, emulsions of oil-oil prod-ucts and oil films); Reclamation of mined deposits (organization of water objects of general and special, for example, fishery, use). The complex of these measures will allow removing a number of questions on the preven-tion and elimination of fires in peat deposits.
