Abstract: The environmental situation of the Kemerovo Region - Kuzbass is determined by the presence of such basic industries as coal mining and coal processing, chemical, metallurgical and energy industries. Despite ensuring socio-economic stability of the region, the concentration of a large number of enterprises leads to an increased ecological load on the environment, which is expressed in emissions into the air from stationary and mobile sources of pollution, in discharges of pollutants with wastewater into surface and ground water sources, in formation and disposal of waste production and consumption, as well as other types of negative impact (noise, vibration, electromagnetic radiation and others). Under such conditions, the choice of effective directions of geoecological safety, including organizational and technological solutions, as well as the ones based on the principles of the best available technologies, is of great importance.
