Abstract: Dewatering of water-coal slurry or thickened product in the conditions of existing coal preparation plants of enterprises for the development of coal deposits is a promising direction for obtaining technogenic mineral. It should also be noted that the quality of the resulting product will be directly affected by the quality of raw materials. At high content of coal particles and low average ash content of solid phase such pulp will be of interest from the point of view of obtaining additional volumes of coal after dewatering. The paper studies the dynamics of dewatering of water-coal slurry produced in the radial thickener of the operating coal preparation plant in shell filter constructions (SFC). The influence of the character of the filter construction placement (vertical and horizontal) on the intensity of moisture loss in the slurry body, as well as the character of moisture loss inside the slurry body in relation to the walls of the construction is established.
