Abstract: The purpose of the study is to analyze known design solutions for conveyor belt catch devices on jig brow belt conveyors; the requirements of current regulatory and technical documents for them, as well as to propose rational design solutions. Currently, there are no modern requirements for conveyor belt catchers on jig brow belt conveyors. In addition, there is no rational technical solution that meets modern safety requirements. Modern requirements for the design of catchers are proposed. Known design solutions for catching devices are analyzed for their compliance with the proposed requirements. Characteristic inconsistencies of catching devices with the proposed requirements are identified. Based on the analysis, rational design solutions for the catching device are proposed, the effectiveness of which must be confirmed by further research.
